Gymnastics Explanation

Gymnastics is part of the Olympic games and is all about athleticism when competitors perform in five different types of gymnastics. Women compete in Artistic, rhythmic, acrobatic, aerobic and trampoline. The only types of gymnastics that men can participate in are Acrobatic, Trampoline, Aerobic and Artistic. Each type of gymnastics has different rules and regulations

The Judges give the scores to those who are the best. There'll be four things the Judges will be looking for. Form, Height and Distance, Stuck landing and Individual and Routine creativity. No mistakes are the key to this because if you make one small mistake, that could affect your score and not get either a bronze, silver or even gold medal. You’ll just be sent somewhere below third place.

Rules are the main concern in nearly everything. The moves have to be difficult and not too simple like a cartwheel, judges will start scoring when you salute them with your arms raised at the back of you, when you’ve finished then do the same thing you did when you started to let the judges know you’ve finished and the scoring will be done.

My favourite gymnast is Mckayla Maroney, she is one of the USA gymnastics team members. Her family is very athletic in many different sports like her father is a quarterback, Mckayla use to participate in three different sports, soccer, ice skating and tennis. Her favourite subject in school is English, favourite foods are sushi, strawberries and mangoes. She has been in sixteen different gymnastics competitions and became a golden winner at the P&G Championships in Hartford, Conn last year.

Gymnastics is a physical sport and require a lot of practice to do this. It is nearly impossible to be able to do what they do, ask a professional gymnast or coach for training and competing in these events. The events for different competitors, different rules and regulations and creativity make gymnastics fun to watch.
